HAPPY YORKSHIRE DAY
One of my favourite artists is fellow Yorkshireman David Hockney. While I was an undergrauate photography student, I was taken by his photographic collages, especially "Pearblossom Hwy" and his colourful paintings of California. As I have gotten older, I have loved seeing the beauty of the Yorkshire landscape as seen through the eyes of Hockney. So, I thought it fitting to post two of his paintings side by side. One from the stunning landscape of Yorkshire, the other the equally stunning Californian landscape.
